Buljarica Beach Guide

Buljarica Beach & Village

Buljarica Beach is one of the beaches in Petrovac, a popular beach resort about 20 kilometers from Budva. Situated between two rocky outcrops, Buljarica Beach forms a protected bay with a long stretch of soft pebbles and azure water. At 2,400 meters long, it is also the longest beach on the Budva Riviera.

Petrovac na Moru

Petrovac na Moru is a popular beachside resort town perfect for a family holiday with a small marina and beautiful surroundings.

Buljarica is a small coastal village of just 160 inhabitants known for its serene and peaceful environment making it popular with campers and nature enthusiasts. Zen-seekers often settle on the southern, rocky end of the beach which is harder to reach and thus more in demand with naturalists.

The northern part of the beach is family-friendly with calm waters and stone cottages housing good beachfront restaurants and taverns peppering the pebbled shore. It’s definitely the laid-back beach vibe that keeps locals and tourists coming back.

Fetch a good book and recline on a well-padded sun lounger under tiki-style parasols, then straighten up to enjoy tasty Adriatic cuisine and chilled white wine – samo polako (no rush). Buljarica Beach is also home to a handful of beach bars that will serve you the sundowners to watch the sunset in style.

Reggae and house tunes float across the terraces down to the sunbeds. Get the party started with a spritz or caipirinha while the Live DJs get fired up for their sets. Sun salutations at dusk are pretty common here, so nobody will give your cobra or bridge poses a second look – they are all too preoccupied with the psychedelic sunset views.

Buljarica Beach Sunbeds

The beach backs up to Mediterranean grasslands and a small forest, it’s the perfect spot to have a family picnic or at least get some shade. Buljarica Beach is also connected to neighboring bays via scenic pathways with sweeping views of the Adriatic Sea. Walk towards Lucice Beach and enjoy a refreshing beer or bite at one of the beachfront bars.

One of the Blue Flag Beaches in Montenegro, Buljarica Beach is proud of its ecological standards and superb water quality, attested by the award from the Foundation for Environmental Education. There are no large-scale developments here, expect to see camping vans parked at the shoreline instead.
