Lucice Beach
Lucice Beach is widely regarded to be one of the best beaches in Montenegro, engulfed by lush pine tree forests and magnificent mountainscapes. This picturesque cove beach auspiciously features little to no development which makes it relatively low-key and yet there are plenty of beach facilities.
Lucice Beach is part of the larger, popular resort town of Petrovac na Moru, and the hotels and vacation rentals there are responsible for a diverse crowd, including families with children, couples, and senior tourists. At almost 250 meters long, this beige pebble beach has some watersports offerings, including kayaking and paddle boarding.

The water is clean and clear, making it one of the best spots for swimming and snorkeling, with some shallow outcrops to watch out for when descending into the water. And while there will be small waves on windy days, this sheltered bay is usually safe for younger children. The small, soft pebbles and the gradual descent add to the family appeal.
A decent amount of umbrellas and sun loungers are available for hire, and otherwise, holidaymakers place their towels along the sand or on the nearby rocks. And since Lucice Beach is one of the more popular ones, you can see the beach crowded in July and August, so better arrive early.
With good weather and fewer crowds, for some people, Lucice Beach is best enjoyed in the shoulder season (Spring and Autumn). In September and early October, the Adriatic Sea is still warm enough for swimming. The weather in April and May is usually too cold for a beach holiday.
Onsite facilities include showers, toilets, and changing cabins. There is a free public section of the beach and a serviced one where you can rent sun loungers and parasols. Lucice is proud to be one of the blue flag beaches in Montenegro.

Restaurants on Lucice Beach
There are a couple of beachside restaurants in Lucice, serving everything from salads to local meat and fish specialties. The family-friendly Medin Bar probably has the best pizza in town. The dough is perfectly Napoletanean and you can observe how it is cooked in the freestanding wood-fired oven.
Just a few steps further, hidden beneath beautiful pine trees, overlooking the beach, sits Pinus Maritimus, a rustic eatery offering classic local meat specialties and Adriatic fare. But also pizza which many consider to be even better than the one in the Medin Bar.

Safety and Access
Lucice Beach is easily accessible by car with plenty of paid and shaded parking available. Lucice is well-connected by pedestrian paths to Petrovac and Buljarica Beach on the other side, and along the way, you will meet the occasional jogger and pedestrian. Accessing the beach by boat is possible as the sandy base is perfect to anchor for the day. Alternatively, there is a small fishing port in Petrovac.
Coming from Kotor, Tivat, or Budva, take the Adriatic Highway towards Bar, then head for Petrovac, and follow the signposts to Lucice. There are also regular buses passing through Petrovac and a taxi from here will not be too pricey either. You can also arrive by one of the taxi boats; most of them stop in Petrovac and from there, it is only a 10-minute walk to Lucice Beach.
Water conditions are usually safe but you will also find lifeguards on duty here. It is important to pay attention to the weather conditions indicated by the flags – do not enter the sea when red flags are hissed. Safe swimming zones are properly marked by buoy lines. Access for people with reduced mobility and families with strollers is limited but possible.
Things to do on Lucice Beach
There is a limited number of watersports for rent but the water conditions in Lucice are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. On both sides of the beach, there are small sea grottos to explore. Some water taxis stop here but you need to go to nearby Petrovac if you want to go on a boat or dive trip.
Besides Petrovac Beach, there are two other beaches within walking distance: Perazica Do Beach which is smaller and more secluded, and Buljarica Beach, the largest beach on the Budva Riviera and with a couple of beach bars and restaurants serving snacks and drinks.
It is also popular with tourists to explore the two small islets in front of Petrovac – Sveta Nedjelja and Katic – either by boat, kayak, or paddle boat. Good swimmers can also reach them within half an hour; the distance is less than one kilometer.
