You might be prepared for a lifestyle and restaurant venture that keeps firmly to its original Buddha-Bar concept, emphasizing its renowned Mod-Orientalism but the Buddva Bar Montenegro has a more extroverted nature. Its centerpiece is the 64-meter-long infinity pool, overlooking Porto Montenegro and the Bay of Kotor.
This is one of those occurrences where the execution nearly surpasses the concept. We had substantial doubts if the location in the center of a super yacht marina would be appropriate for the Buddha Bar’s globetrotting clientele. But it surely works well!
What is surprising is the sheer diversity of visitors. Wealthy boaters and foreign yuppies mingle with local hedonists and lifestyle enthusiasts. There are also families with children; the Buddha Bar after all is a very open-minded and accepting venue.
The outdoor pool is engulfed by rows of palms, Bali Beds, and sun loungers which are available for hire for 25€ for a full day. The pool deck looks awesome at any time of the day but especially at night when the 3-meter Buddha sculpture and the surrounding palms are illuminated in red, blue, and green.
Others prefer the late afternoon hours when beach club visitors get the chance to admire the gorgeous color palettes of a Mediterranean sunset. While the hypnotizing bets throb gently in the background, you have realized that you had nothing to eat for a couple of hours, this does not have to be so.
The Buddha Bar has an onsite restaurant, offering eclectic Asian fusion cuisine with all-time food favorites like Pad Thai that will remind you of your last trip to south-east Asia. Cocktails are not too pricey either. The Shisu Negroni is a convincingly warm and minty hue that goes well with the setting.
Opening Hours: 10 am – 12 am (until 2 am from Thursday to Sunday)
