ToggleDobrec Beach
Dobrec Beach is one of those spots that you don’t want to share with too many others! On the west coast of the Lustica Peninsula, near the fishing village of Rose, it’s neither easy to access nor to find – which greatly contributes to its desirability and attraction.
This beautiful cove beach which measures a tiny 45 meters from one side to the other, is for sure one of the most laid-back and low-key beaches you will find in Montenegro. Dobrec radiates that relaxed island vibe, an aura we all crave, especially lately.
Few people know that this quaint and lovely strand was one of the first in Montenegro to be awarded the prestigious Blue Flag Award, attesting to its pristine water quality and healthy marine environment. Luckily, the waters are not only clean but also crystal-clear, perfect for snorkeling and swimming.
You will be sharing this piece of paradise with other visitors who came here, same as you, to escape the big crowds on Herceg Novi’s public beaches. One could even claim that Dobrec Beach is the polar opposite of these beaches: clean, tranquil, not hurried, and well-maintained.
You can rent incredibly comfortable sun loungers and Bali Beds which are always the perfect choice for taking a short daytime nap. When visiting, be sure to make a reservation upfront or arrive there early. The beach is also popular with locals who come here to recharge, especially on weekends.
Info: Dobrec Beach is not the most child-friendly strand – the entry into the water is a bit challenging due to some larger stones and pebbles.
How to get there
You can only get to this soothing cove easily by taxi boat – either from Herceg Novi Harbor or from nearby Rose. From Herceg Novi, it is a 30-minute ride and along the way, you can experience the stunning natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Bay of Kotor from the sea.
