Herceg Novi to Tivat by Bus

Herceg Novi is a charming coastal town straddling the border with Croatia which is loaded with interesting history, laid-back Mediterranean culture, and a picturesque old town, overlooking the Lustica Peninsula. But also neighboring Tivat is a stunning destination in its own right. It is primarily known for its superyacht marina Porto Montenegro and its pretty seaside promenade lined with waterfront restaurants and stylish cafes.

The distance between both bus stations is 21 kilometers (13 miles) and the journey takes between 60 and 90 minutes on average. During the high season, buses are rarely on time due to increased traffic along the Adriatic Highway. The easiest way is to catch a bus from the Herceg Novi Bus Station or Tivat Bus Station, from where buses depart every half hour – either via Risan and Kotor or the ferry across the Bay of Kotor, with the latter being a little quicker.

The price for a one-way ticket (without checked baggage) is between 3 and 6 Euros, depending on the bus operator and the route. Either buy your ticket at the counter at the bus station (+1,00 Euro in fees) or book directly online and pay with a credit card.
