Hotel AMI Petrovac

It would be challenging to imagine a locale for a hotel that would be closer to the center of this resort’s life than the Hotel AMI Petrovac. Just a stone’s throw away from the beach and the lovely coastal promenade, the AMI could hardly be in a better location for a relaxing summer holiday.

Petrovac is one of Montenegro’s most picturesque coastal towns and is especially popular with families in the peak season and more seasoned visitors in the shoulder season. Its Lungomare stretches from one end of the pebbly Petrovac Beach to a little marina where locals dock their fishing boats.

Petrovac Beach

Petrovac Beach is just a short walk away from the Hotel AMI. Hotel guests can take advantage of the hotel’s private beach section with sunbeds.

The AMI is the only 5-star hotel in town and thus the only choice for the more demanding guest. It is also housed in the tallest building – that is why many rooms come with a panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea and the two beautiful islands that lie out there in the bay.

Best Hotels in Petrovac

The service is the story here, though; the appearance and location are secondary. Many hotels as desirable as the AMI would get away with flamboyant looks and try to make do with mediocre and indifferent service personnel, but not this hotel. The staff is accommodating.

The Hotel AMI Petrovac may be a luxury hotel, but it leaves the splendor and pompousness to other residences along Budva’s coast, going instead for a ritzy residential vibe. It is stylish and cool in a grown-up, elegant sort of way, with taupe and beige color palettes dominating the design.

The Facilities

The magical red pebbles of Petrovac Beach are so alluring that they attract many tourists. In the high season, you can barely find an inch of free space to place your towel. Luckily, as a hotel guest, you do not need to fight over sunbeds – you can just choose one of the comfortable loungers.

At the same time, it is the hotel-owned beach section on the southern end of town that receives the most amount of sunlight. While everyone on the right side of the beach is already in deep shade, you still have an hour or so to luxuriate in healthy sun rays.

On rainy days, or when you just feel like it, you can also just laze at one of the two swimming pools. Or get one of the relaxing and rejuvenating treatments at the Aninna Wellness & SPA Center. Here you can unwind in the Turkish Bath or get your muscles loosened with a volcanic stone massage.

Where You Will Sleep

There are 113 well-appointed rooms and suites at the Hotel AMI, and while not all of them come with a sea view and balcony, the ones that do are – obviously – the better choice. In the spacious rooms, you will find modern artwork and accents in blue and green contrasting with the homely taupe and beige tones.

Several commodious suites are also available – some particularly romantic with freestanding bathtubs – and others ideal for larger families or groups of friends. Fluffy bathrobes, slippers, and comfortable beds will make you feel right at home, and there is no way around not liking the floor-to-ceiling windows and glass balconies with sweeping views.

Perazica Do Beach Petrovac
An Interesting Beach

Perazica Do Beach is probably the least visited stretch of sand in Petrovac. It is known for its clean and turquoise-colored waters.

Things to do nearby

Petrovac Beach, Lucice Beach, and Perazica Do Beach are all an easy walk away, as is the lovely coastal promenade with its beachfront restaurants, cafes, and shops. It is also easy to use for those with limited mobility or families with small children in buggies or strollers.

There are plenty of opportunities for watersports in Petrovac, thanks largely to its small but functional marina. You can rent kayaks, paddle boats, and boats of all kinds – with or without a captain. The islets of Katic and Sveti Nedjelja, which are less than a kilometer away from Petrovac’s coastline, are a popular destination.

In nearby Buljarica, you can get your blood pumping and experience the natural beauty of Petrovac and its surroundings from a tandem paraglider, licensed instructor included. Alternatively, Petrovac has numerous interesting snorkeling and diving grounds; there is a dive center in the marina.

Buljarica Beach
Buljarica Beach

Two coves south of Petrovac lies Buljarica Beach, the longest beach on the Budva Riviera; popular with campers and nature enthusiasts.

Should you ever get bored by the beach, you may consider visiting the gorgeous Skadar Lake which is only half an hour away from Petrovac. The nearby coastal towns of Kotor and Tivat are also within a 60-minute reach. When in Kotor, don’t forget to take a ride with the newly-built Kotor Cable Car.

How to get there

Petrovac is conveniently located between Budva and Bar on the central part of Montenegro’s Adriatic coast. The airports of Tivat (TIV) and Podgorica (TGD) are within an hour’s reach by car or taxi. There is no rail connection, however. Buses frequent between Petrovac and the other coastal towns half-hourly.
