Mademoiselle Wine & Dine Lounge Kotor
The Mademoiselle Wine & Dine Lounge in Prcanj offers quality Mediterranean cuisine matched with an extensive wine list, including many good local bottles. Mademoiselle specializes in shellfish and fish delicacies, and the unique creations are best described in one simple word: delicious.
The secret behind it is the young and talented Chef de Cuisine Pavle Gordic who has a mix of traditional and ‘long-forgotten’ recipes in his repertoire, all with a modern twist. The restaurant is not cheap compared to other eateries in that area but, of course, you pay a premium for the setting.
Relax with panoramic sea views on the restaurant’s pretty waterfront terrace, accentuated by the soft tunes of a live saxophone performance. The atmosphere here is very calm and serene, given that it is located on the more tranquil side of the bay with fewer tourists.
Firstly, Marko brought us the starters accompanied by a superb Oplen Riesling by Aleksandrovic. The bruschette with prawns and salmon were a good substitute for the usual ham and cheese platters. Also unusually tasty were the Buzara mussels, cooked in a stew of white wine, garlic, and parsley.
After that, our friendly serveur Marko who was very attentive throughout the entire dinner brought us two varieties of tartare – steak and tuna. The steak tartare was skillfully combined with Cafe de Paris flavored butter and toasted bread. The particularly invigorating aroma of the tuna tartare can be traced back to the use of ginger, mango chutney, and a scoop of guacamole.
The hors d’oeuvre was followed by two seafood dishes and Marko added a bottle of strong Chardonnay from the same vinery. The black-sesame-crusted tuna steak, a classic, had an intense savory flavor. Equally outstanding, but more refined in taste, was the Saint Pierre in truffle sauce, served as a juicy fillet cut on grilled polenta.
Among the desserts, the chocolate poppyseed cake topped with a scoop of pistachio ice cream and the pistachio cheesecake were probably the best cakes we had in a long time. And that alone is worth a detour to Mademoiselle Wine & Dine if you are close to Kotor or Tivat and looking for a pristine dining experience.
