Perazica Do Beach Guide

Perazica Do Beach

Perazica Do Beach is an immaculate beach located on the Budva Riviera, just a short walk from the charming, resort town of Petrovac. It is surrounded by the wild beauty of sandstone cliffs, banana trees, and desert plants.

Maybe it is the untamed environment, or perhaps it’s just the jealousy-inducing modern villas sitting atop the cliffs, or the gigantic abandoned hotel, whatever the appeal, Perazica Do is a beachgoer’s favorite. It’s small enough to feel intimate but still big enough to extend out a little.

Petrovac Fortress
Petrovac

Petrovac is a charming coastal resort on the Budva Riviera, popular with families who come here in the summer months to relax and unwind.

The beach itself is cut in half by a large white rocky cleft which must have fallen onto the beach from the cliffs a long time ago. And, it is not the only one, many gorgeous white stones lie scattered on the beach. It’s fun to explore these outcroppings that add both an exotic and quirky feel to the beach.

Due to its somewhat remote location, the water here is sparklingly clean and beautifully turquoise-colored, perfect for swimming and snorkeling, and as you cannot rent any water sports equipment here, many people come here just for that.

Perazica Do Beach Sunbeds

Sun loungers and tiki-style umbrellas are available for hire and there is usually also plenty of space to place your towel but it is advised to arrive early. Perazica Do Beach is mostly made up of fine, soft round pebbles but there are also sections where stone dominates.

To give a little context of the abandoned hotel, Hotel AS started to operate in the 1980s and was previously one of Yugoslavia’s most pristine resort hotels, featuring an outdoor saltwater pool and a small marina. After a failed privatization effort in 2002, the hotel has remained abandoned.

Safety and Access

Access-wise, this beach is relatively easy to find. You’ll have to take a turn close to the Rezevici Monastery and follow the steep road till the end where plenty of parking is available – a taxi from Petrovac will not be too pricey either. You can also try finding a free spot further up and then take the shady lane downstairs.

This approach and the one through the tunnel coming on foot from Petrovac feel like something out of a movie. Perazica Do is a beach for adventurous types. To access the northern parts of the beach, climb over or swim around the rock outcropping that juts into the sea.

Perazica Do Beach Out of Season

Arriving by boat is not unproblematic because no moonings and buoys are nearby. You don’t want to get too close to the beach because there can be large rock formations underneath. The nearest ports are in Petrovac and Budva. Coming by bus, you need to get off in Petrovac and walk from there.

Wheelchair and stroller access is limited as there is a short, rough walk from the parking lot and the tunnel to the beach. There is no paved area or boardwalk. Onsite facilities include changing cabins, showers, and toilets.
