Tivat, a small coastal town nestled between towering mountains in the central part of the Bay of Kotor, is primarily known for its super yacht marina Porto Montenegro. In all honesty, beaches are better in other parts of the country, along the Budva Riviera for example.

Waikiki Beach seems to want to set an example with its elegant and modern beach club that aims to bring a little bit of tropical vibes to Boka Bay. It is also the only other beach that might be an alternative to the Buddha Bar Montenegro for the lifestyle-focussed beachgoer in Tivat.

Situated right on Tivat’s coastal promenade in Seljanovo, Waikiki Beach is a beach club and a restaurant in one. This canicular venue strikes just the right balance between epicureanism and offering an unhurried place to unwind and have a drink – from the comfort of your sun lounger.

You can choose among the budget-friendly and the plusher, higher quality wooden sunbeds. And whichever you prefer, the views of the surrounding mountains, yeachts, and the crystal-clear sea are just amazing. The vibrant turquoise sea and small white pebbles do not hurth either.

The level of cuisine is surprisingly high and do not think that Waikiki Beach offers just a rudimentary beach club menu. The owner is an eminent restauranteur in Tivat (also the owner of the Opera Lounge Bar) and serves no less than high-quality food.

Like a Tomahawk Steak with grilled vegetables and potatoes, cooked to perfection? Or a light seafood meal salad? The beach restaurant serves up wordwide cuisine that is delicious and nutritious. Throughout the high season, there are themed events such as salsa and cocktail nights which are regularly organized.

Especially in July and August, the beach club can become rather crowded. It is advisable then to book sunbeds ahead of time.
