ToggleKamenovo is a beautiful beach surrounded by lush greenery and steep mountains, well-connected by pedestrian paths to Budva, and along the way you pass neighboring Becici, frequented predominantly by families. Kamenovo attracts a younger crowd, in no small part due to its popular and lively beach club.
The water here is impressively clean and appears marvelously Carribean-blue, making it the perfect sanctuary for swimming and practicing watersports. This 330-meter-long beach is backed by nothing but lush Mediterranean greenery and looks out onto Sveti Nikola Island but you can also see Sveti Stefan, which lies four coves further south and creates a truly picturesque setting.
Loved by the demanding traveler and global jet set for its exclusive pink pebble beaches and the ultra-luxury island resort, Sveti Stefan has a lot going for it.
Discover bustling and high-octane Budva, a coastal town with a well-preserved historic center that is known for its beautiful beaches and good nightlife.
Kamenovo Beach is regularly listed as one of Montenegro’s best beaches, an opinion we, not strangely, share. And so do the hundreds of beachgoers who love to relax on the comfortable sun loungers, Bali beds, or right on the sand. Like most other beaches in Montenegro, there is also a free public section, which, however, fills up quickly in the high season.
Waves are practically absent here, due to Kamenovo’s sheltered location between Sveti Nikola Island and its southwest-facing shoreline. On-site facilities include showers, changing stations, toilets, and a beach bar/restaurant, making it easy to spend an entire relaxing day by the sea with friend(s) or partner.
Find out more about Sveti Nikola Island, a popular day trip destination on the Budva Riviera, known for its pristine beaches, breathtaking views, and untouched nature.
Kamenovo Beach is accessed via the M-1 Highway (previously M 2.4) by motorized vehicle or by foot via the seaside walkway from Budva or Becici. There is a large – and partly shaded – car park at the southern end of the beach, offering day parking at affordable rates. Due to its proximity to Budva and popularity with both tourists and locals, it does tend to get crowded in the peak travel period, so it is advisable to arrive early.
Lifeguards are on duty from May through October and the water quality is regularly checked. In recent years, Kamenovo Beach regularly shared the top rankings for the cleanest water, as evidenced by its Blue Flag Designation. A 200-meter-zone from the shore is marked by a line of red and white buoys, allowing for safe swimming and snorkeling.
Montenegro has its fair share of Blue Flag Beaches, from sheltered coves with pebbles and crystal-clear waters to long sandy and family-friendly stretches.
Kamenovo welcomes two types of beachgoers: those seeking total relaxation and those looking for lots of action. Bring a volleyball (or ask the lifeguard) to play a game with friends in the marked area adjacent to the beach club. When the sun sets, you’ll usually see some people having fun with a frisbee, while the resident DJ slowly switches from smooth Bossa Nova to throbbing house tunes.
The Kamenovo Beach Club regularly hosts local and international DJs and also organizes Latin and Salsa dance parties right on the sand. However, there are also many fun things to do on or below the water, including exploring the beautiful coastline by stand-up paddleboard, pedal boat, or jet ski, and booking a waterskiing class.
Kitesurfing, scuba diving, kayaking, jet skiing, stand-up paddleboarding, and snorkeling are some of the most popular watersports in Montenegro. Find out more!
There is definitely no shortage of bars and waterfront eateries along the Budva – Kamenovo boardwalk. Haizea, perched atop the cliffs above the beach, is a fantastic spot for a refreshing cocktail – they also serve tasty non-alcoholic variants – or pizza break away from the scorching summer heat.
