Sveti Stefan Beach

With panoramic views of the Island of Sveti Stefan right in front of your eyes, it’s not hard to fall in love with this beach the moment you arrive. The fine pale-pink pebbles contrast marvelously against the deep blue color palette of the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.

Sveti Stefan Beach – North

Sveti Stefan Beach is divided into two equal parts by the narrow causeway that leads up to the island. The northern part (towards Budva) is one of the private hotel beaches managed by Aman Sveti Stefan. As a non-guest, you can still rent loungers and parasols but it will set you back 180€ per day.

And it is easy to see why. The northern flank of Sveti Stefan Beach is not your average strand: loungers are spaced so that you cannot hear what your neighbors are talking and you receive top-notch catering service from one of the leading luxury hotel management companies – Aman Resorts.

Aman Sveti Stefan Milocer Beach

Even the showers feel luxurious with wide and modern showerheads, otherwise only seen in Spa centers and luxurious contemporary bathrooms. From the beach, you can also take a shaded walkway to Milocer Beach (King’s Beach) which is also managed by Aman. Here, sunbeds are 200€ per set.

Sveti Stefan Beach – South

Now let’s go back to the other flank of Sveti Stefan Beach that is freely accessible to the public. While not as upscale as its lavish adjacent, the beach still features breathtaking panoramic views of the 15th-century fortress island.

Renting sunbeds on this side is cheaper (but not cheap) with rates ranging from 30 – 60€, depending on how close you want to be to the water. Be it as it may, at least they are spaciously spread out and there is enough comfort. There is also a free unserviced section nearby.

Sveti Stefan Island

The poster child of Montenegrin luxury tourism has been closed to the public for over a decade. Starting July 2023, Aman Resorts now finally allows visitors to explore the beauties of this unique piece of Montenegrin heritage.

The entrance fee is 25€ per person. Children aged 12 and below do enter free of charge. Aman Resorts allow for just six guided tours per day with a maximum capacity of 10 adults + 4 children per tour.

Hotels near Sveti Stefan Beach

Luckily, there are good options around Sveti Stefan to spend the night at. The area has a decent mix of luxury and boutique hotels besides private vacation rentals. Here are some hotels to consider.

Aman Sveti Stefan

Let’s start with the obvious choice if money wasn’t an issue: the Aman Sveti Stefan which is without a doubt one of Montenegro’s best hotels. The luxury resort stands out with incredible attention to detail and one-of-a-kind hospitality.

Aman Sveti Stefan Suite

As a matter of fact, the Sveti Stefan resort regularly attracts film stars, sports stars, and high-rolling hedonists who come here to enjoy the exceptional beauty in total privacy. At their command are three of Montenegro’s most beautiful beaches and a lush 32-hectare estate that once belonged to the Royal Family.

Villa Geba

This family-run 5-star hotel is the quintessential definition of a lovely boutique hotel. From the way the building is designed to the warm and authentic way guests are treated, there is little that can be criticized at Villa Geba.

Villa Geba Outdoor Pool

We have to praise the interior designers and management team – both are world-class. Villa Geba also comes with one of the best restaurants in the region, the Muse. In ancient mythology, Geba is Zeus’ daughter and you will see this antiquity theme throughout the hotel design.

Good Restaurants near Sveti Stefan Beach

You should probably best avoid the beach bars and restaurants right at the beach – the quality of the food and service does not always meet the expectations of the more demanding traveler. Read our restaurant recommendations in our article about Sveti Stefan.

The Muse is a brilliant place for a sunset dinner – with a lovely wine selection and the views are breathtaking. You will receive authentic food and homemade pasta in the Pampur Bar.
